Job description

Medical Receptionist

Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage/eligibility
- Collect co-pays and process payments

- Obtain prior authorizations for clinic visits as needed

- Re schedule no shows
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized

- Rooming patients, checking vitals and turning over rooms

Experience:
- Previous experience working as a medical receptionist is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is required. Familiarity with Athena Health EMR is a plus

- Familiarity with major PPOs, major HMOs/IPAs in Inland Empire, Medicare and Medi-CAL portals is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Spanish Bilingual is preferred.
