How much do full time rbt jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 12, 2026, the average hourly pay for full time rbt in Raleigh, NC is $20.84, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $17.31 and $22.64 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What's the highest paid RBT?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, with some experienced or specialized RBTs earning up to $30 per hour or more. Factors influencing higher pay include location, experience, certifications, and working in private practices or specialized settings.

What is a Full Time RBT job?

A Full-Time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a professional who works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. RBTs work with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders to help improve their communication, social skills, and daily living abilities. A full-time position typically requires 30-40 hours per week, often in clinical, home, or school settings. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, collecting data on client progress, and assisting with behavioral interventions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Full Time Rbt position, and why are they important?

To excel as a Full Time RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), you need a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a 40-hour RBT training program, and passing the RBT certification exam. Proficiency in data collection systems, familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) methods, and adherence to BACB guidelines are standard requirements. Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to build rapport with clients and families are standout soft skills. These qualities are vital for delivering effective behavioral interventions, ensuring accurate progress tracking, and fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.

Why do RBTs quit?

RBTs often leave the role due to high caseloads, emotional stress, limited career advancement, or inadequate compensation. The demanding nature of working with clients with behavioral challenges and the need for ongoing training can also contribute to turnover.

How much does RBT make?

The average hourly wage for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Florida ranges from $15 to $20, depending on experience, certification, and the employer. Annual salaries typically range from approximately $30,000 to $40,000 for full-time RBTs working standard hours. Additional certifications and experience can lead to higher pay within this range.

What does a typical workday look like for a Full Time RBT?

A typical day for a Full Time RBT involves working directly with clients—often children with autism or other developmental disabilities—by implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You can expect to collect and record behavioral data, assist clients with daily living skills, and adjust activities based on client progress and needs. Collaboration with families, teachers, and other professionals is common to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions. The schedule is usually structured but may vary depending on client appointments and workplace settings, such as clinics, schools, or homes. This hands-on, supportive role allows you to make a meaningful impact on clients’ development and growth.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Full Time Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) typically do not earn $2,000 per day; their pay is usually hourly or salary-based. High-paying jobs that can reach this level often involve specialized skills, such as consulting, executive roles, or certain medical and legal professions, but these are not typical for RBTs. Most RBT positions focus on behavioral therapy and have standardized pay scales below this threshold.
