Full-Time Radiology Manager Outpatient Sites

The Manager, Radiology in conjunction with the Network Radiology Administrator and Chief of Radiology is responsible for all of the activities and personnel associated with the operation of both inpatient and outpatient hospital based radiology services.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the hospital's administrative policies and procedures especially those pertaining to the Radiology Department

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the strategic plan of the hospital particularly as they relate to the development of radiology and its services; to facilitate and promote that development at all times

  • Devise and implement all internal policies, procedures and systems that are necessary for the smooth operation of the providing comprehensive services, seven days a week

  • Devise a system that will provide ongoing monitoring and quality control of all radiology equipment and all other physical resources that will enable preventive maintenance, quick repair, adequate supply levels and appropriate documentation as required through the guidelines of regulatory agencies (NRC, ACR, Joint Commission and State)

  • Devise service delivery systems that will provide the highest quality of products and services in the fastest, most economical way possible; to continuously search for ways to improve these service delivery systems

  • Propose and justify an annual capital equipment budget and operating budget which meets department and hospital needs. Maintain a cost effective department inventory

  • Responsible for daily department revenue reconciliation review and appropriate actions taken

  • Meet routinely, not less than once monthly, with the Radiology Director, Radiology Administrator and the Radiologist Site Director to provide verbal and written reports as requested

  • Conduct routine management meetings with all radiology supervisor/coordinator/Sr. tech; to make assignments, monitor all performance and retrieve information as necessary

  • Act as a liaison between the Radiology Department and department customers

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for a total of 5 hours per day in up to 2-hour increments. Standing for 1 hour per day in 15-minute increments. Walking 2 hours per day in 10-minute increments. Occasional dexterity of the hands. Rarely lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Occasional stooping and bending. Rarely squatting, crouching or reaching above shoulder level. Feeling as it relates to touching. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, far vision and color vision.

EDUCATION:

Graduate from a recognized ARRT program, or graduate from another recognized accrediting agency (ARDMS, NMTCB, CCI, etc.) or graduate of a professional nursing program. Bachelors or Master's Degree preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

5 years' experience as a staff technologist preferred. Has demonstrated leadership skills.
