Job description

Manager, Imaging/Radiology
Location: Bellevue, Washington
Salary Range: $121,900 – $183,000 per year
Position Overview
Our client, a major healthcare organization, is seeking an Imaging and Radiology Manager for an onsite, permanent leadership position in Bellevue, Washington. The role carries operational and people leadership accountability for a diagnostic imaging service.
This is a substantive management position for an imaging professional ready to lead rather than practice. You will own staffing, quality, regulatory compliance, budget, and patient experience for the department, working alongside radiologists and senior clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the daily operations of the imaging department across modalities, managing scheduling, patient throughput, turnaround times, and resource allocation so that clinical demand is met safely and without avoidable delay.
You will manage, develop, and retain the imaging technologist team, owning recruitment, orientation, competency assessment, performance management, scheduling, and professional development, and building a culture in which staff raise concerns early.
You will hold accountability for quality and regulatory compliance, including accreditation readiness, radiation safety programs, equipment quality control, policy and procedure currency, and the investigation and resolution of incidents, complaints, and quality events.
You will manage the departmental budget covering staffing, supplies, and capital equipment, participate in equipment selection and replacement planning, analyze operational and financial performance data, and lead improvement initiatives. You will also partner closely with radiologists, referring clinicians, and hospital leadership on service development.
You will own patient experience within the department, monitoring feedback and complaint themes, addressing service failures directly, and ensuring that scheduling, communication, and wait times are managed with the patient's perspective in mind rather than solely the department's convenience.
Requirements
Prior leadership experience in a diagnostic imaging or radiology department is required, at supervisor, lead, or manager level, with demonstrated accountability for staff and operational performance.
A relevant imaging credential is required, such as ARRT registration, together with any Washington State credential needed for practice. A bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences, healthcare administration, or a related field is required or strongly expected at this level.
You must demonstrate sound operational judgment, working knowledge of imaging regulatory and accreditation requirements, budget management capability, and the interpersonal skill to lead a professional team and work credibly with physicians. Current BLS certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred, as is experience managing multiple modalities including CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and interventional radiology.
Advanced credentials such as CRA (Certified Radiology Administrator) are highly valued. Experience in a large integrated health system, familiarity with Epic or comparable systems and modern PACS and RIS platforms, and a track record leading process improvement or accreditation surveys are all advantageous.
Experience managing through a period of growth, service expansion, or major equipment replacement is highly valued. Familiarity with productivity benchmarking, staffing model design, and union or represented workforce administration is advantageous, as is a record of retaining technologists in a competitive labor market.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $121,900 to $183,000 per year. The breadth of this range reflects the weight given to leadership experience, credentials, and scope of prior responsibility.
You will lead an established imaging service within a well-resourced healthcare organization, with genuine authority over how the department runs and clear access to senior leadership. The role offers a defined path for imaging professionals building a management career, alongside the stability of a permanent position in a major health system.
This is a contract engagement placed through our recruiting team. We work closely with our contract professionals throughout the assignment, from onboarding and first-week check-ins through to end-of-contract planning, and we actively look for the next opportunity for people who deliver well. Many of our contract placements lead to extensions, repeat assignments, or permanent conversion.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Reasonable accommodations are available during the application and interview process on request. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the engagement.
