Concrete Construction Project Manager – Lead Heavy Civil and Municipal Infrastructure

Job Overview

  • Location: Indianapolis, IN (Office & Field).

  • Project Scope: Heavy Civil, INDOT, DPW, and Municipal Concrete.
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver's License.

The Opportunity You will take full ownership of high-impact municipal and civil infrastructure projects, serving as the critical link between field operations and company ownership. This role offers the autonomy to manage multi-use paths, roundabouts, and site packages while being supported by a lean, field-focused team that values documentation and accountability. You will have direct visibility with ownership and a clear path toward long-term professional growth and mentorship.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Manage assigned projects from initial mobilization through final closeout and payment.
  • Create 2–3 week look-ahead schedules to ensure efficient crew sequencing and material deliveries.
  • Verify field quantities and cost codes daily to ensure 100% billing accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for INDOT/DPW inspectors and general contractors.
  • Conduct pre-pour meetings and progress walks to maintain high quality and safety standards.
  • Reconcile field measurements against foreman logs to prevent missing quantities or late pay apps.
  • Maintain real-time project documentation including redlined plans, RFIs, and submittals.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing heavy civil or commercial concrete construction projects.
  • Proven ability to interpret civil construction plans, spec books, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency with construction management software, specifically HCSS (HeavyJob/HeavyBid).
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to identify and resolve quantity or cost discrepancies.
  • Experience working with INDOT/DPW specifications and public agency billing documentation.

  • Experience with construction accounting and digital takeoff software.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple active projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
