Full-Time | Year-Round | Travel Required
New Jersey – Multiple Locations

About the Position

We are looking for an exceptionally skilled Master Pool Finishing Craftsman with extensive hands-on experience in pool construction, plastering, tile installation, coping, and high-end pool finishes.

This is a specialized construction position for someone who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and understands what it takes to deliver a high-quality finished pool. The ideal candidate will have the experience and technical ability to work independently, oversee construction activities, operate heavy equipment, and ensure every project meets our quality standards.

This position will travel between our three New Jersey locations based on construction project needs. Travel between locations is a regular part of the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of pool construction projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Perform and oversee specialized pool finishing work, including pool plastering, tile installation, coping, grout, surface preparation, waterproofing, and other high-end pool finishes.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, pool designs, measurements, elevations, and project specifications.
  • Ensure proper preparation and execution of pool surfaces before plaster, tile, and other finishes are applied.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail to ensure finished surfaces are level, smooth, properly aligned, and meet company quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve construction and finishing issues before they affect the final product.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and skid steers in accordance with project specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Perform excavation, grading, backfilling, site preparation, and other construction activities as required.
  • Assist with or oversee pool structure, plumbing, tile, coping, decking, plaster, and related construction activities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction crews to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work and ensure deficiencies are corrected before project completion.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
  • Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and all applicable local and state regulations.
  • Properly maintain and operate company tools, equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
  • Travel to construction projects throughout our three New Jersey locations as needed.
  • Provide guidance and hands-on training to less experienced construction employees when necessary.
  • Take ownership of workmanship, productivity, safety, and the overall quality of the finished pool.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive professional experience in swimming pool construction.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pool plastering and finishing.
  • Strong experience with pool tile installation, coping, grout, waterproofing, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to independently complete high-quality finishing work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience operating heavy construction equipment, including excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and skid steers.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of pool construction methods, materials, elevations, measurements, and finishing techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to troubleshoot construction and finishing problems and determine the appropriate solution.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding construction work.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between our New Jersey construction locations.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is not a general laborer or pool service technician. We are looking for a true pool construction craftsman who has developed advanced skills through years of hands-on experience.

If you can look at a pool shell, tile layout, plaster application, coping installation, or finished surface and immediately recognize what needs to be done to achieve a professional, high-end result, this may be the opportunity for you.

If you take pride in your craftsmanship and consider yourself one of the best in the pool construction trade, we want to hear from you.
