Job Grade : Union Position - Non Exempt

Job Title: Extra Person (must be available to work various shifts)


Summary: Responsible for following all environmental health and safety rules. We are a growing paper manufacturing facility with opportunities across multiple departments. Our operation includes a paper machine, stock preparation area, converting department, maintenance, and shipping & receiving. New hires will receive training in various positions throughout the mill to develop a broad understanding of our manufacturing process and provide opportunities for growth and advancement.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay: $19.79 - $21.05 per hour

Shift Differential: 2nd Shift additional $.75/per hour – 3rd Shift additional $1.00/per hour


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have GED or diploma
  • 1+ year Forklift Experience
  • 1+ year in a Manufacturing, Industrial, or Production experience
  • Must be available to work various shifts, Saturday and Sunday when needed

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Able to work safely after receiving extensive safety training in all OSHA required subjects that relate to a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Uses hoses and equipment to clean stock material spills
  • Properly winds and stores hoses after completion of task
  • Keeps all work areas in the mill and warehouse clean and organized
  • Operates baler equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Safely operates lift trucks to move bales, dyes, and chemicals to designated locations within the plant
  • Completes daily checklist for lift trucks.
  • Uses the freight elevator to move goods within the warehouse
  • Trained and qualified to operate core cutter and notcher machines for processing cores to required specifications
  • Able to work alone without constant supervision.
  • Trained in and capable of executing lockout/tagout procedures and complying with confined space entry requirements in accordance with OSHA and company policies
  • Assists other workers, and performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
  • Must have good attendance
  • Must be available for all shifts (7a.m.-3p.m., 3p.m.-11p.m., 11p.m.-7a.m.)
  • Must be available to work Saturdays when needed
  • Must be available to work overtime when needed
  • Must be able to pass physical, drug screen and background check


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, bend, twist
  • Comfortable working in noisy, hot, humid, or dusty environments
