LOCATION: Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA
SCHEDULE: Full time (40 hours per week),Mid-shift, hours may vary between 7a-11p, leadership on-call responsibilities approximetly 6 weeks per year, no holidays, no weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting and enhancing the quality of Computerized Tomography (CT) procedures on patients throughout the Lancaster General Health System. Develops policies, procedures and training programs that document and support ongoing CT quality management activities. Assesses technologist clinical image quality, plans and directs individual remediation efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
Under the direction of their Supervisor establishes, implements, and oversees the quality performance standards for equipment, procedures and work environment.
Performs timely, accurate, concise, and complete documentation of QA activities, policies, protocols, results and action plans.
Utilizes the QA results to perform outcome measurement and assessment.
Develops and implements an action plan when outcome measurement results are not within the established standards.
Develops written protocols that meet or exceed established American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines and any accreditation requirements.
Works with the professional development council and Radiology Educator to determine and provide in-service and training needs.
Performs Technologist peer review assessment and mentors identified preceptors to assist with process as needed.
Performs classification of technologist peer review findings with regard to level of quality.
Summarizes the statistics and results of the technologist peer review process and reports to the quality management committee.
Reviews QA cases with technologists and identifies areas for improvement.
Reviews information regularly their supervisor and Medical Section Chief of their modality.
Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the modality specific continuing educational programs and revises the programs as needed.
Maintains the ability to perform all diagnostic procedures within their modality through proper technique selection according to department policy and procedure. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Maintains knowledge of all modality procedures, assist with research and implementation of new technology and procedures and function as a resource and mentor for team members.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an AMA approved program for Radiological Technology.
Certified by the AART (American Association of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiological Technology and Computerized Tomography.
Must be a registered CT Technologist.
Maintains Continuing Education credits in compliance with AART requirements.
Exceptional professional communication with patients.
Exceptional patient care skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Competency in all areas of specialty.
Five (5) years of experience as a CT Technologist.
Three (3) years experience leading teams or projects.
