Your future role at a glance

Location: Remote

Department: Revenue Cycle Management 

Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift 

Salary Range: $23.03 - $31.16/hr 

How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Accurately abstract patient records to assign correct ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring proper APC or DRG groupings.

  • Strictly adhere to official coding guidelines, reimbursement requirements, and the AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding.

  • Conduct regular chart audits and proactively query physicians to clarify ambiguous, incomplete, or unclear documentation.

  • Maintain established productivity and quality rates while staying up to date on evolving coding policies and regulations.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Preferred Credentials:
    • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
    • Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
    • Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
What additional requirements you'll need
  • 40 hours a week | M-F | Hours between 6 AM - 6 PM Central Time Zone | No weekends or major holidays
