Expanding regional law firm is seeking a full-time legal assistant to join our office in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Competitive compensation package with health benefits and 401(k) option offered. This is a great opportunity to join our office and contribute to the growth and expansion of our firm's presence in this area, while also developing your own legal experience by working closely with attorneys and other legal staff through all steps of litigation, up to and through trial.

Responsibilities

  • Must have 3 years + experience Defense Litigation
  • Meet deadlines
  • Provide support to multiple attorneys
  • Manage multiple tasks
  • Perform detail-oriented processes
  • Possess the ability to function well in a team environment
  • Types and transcribes documents.
  • Revises documents when necessary and ensures that they are disbursed according
    to supervising attorney(s)' specifications.
  • Maintains organized filing system, ensuring that filing is up to date.
  • Takes calls for paralegal(s) supervising attorney(s).
  • Meet weekly and Monthly deadlines.
  • Attend trial and prepare for trial.
  • Assists in the completion of Medical Chronology.
  • Able to write emails in a professional manner.
  • Know how to communicate professionally – verbally and written.
  • Able to create their own templates.
  • Problem solver.
  • Detailed Oriented and Organized.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently and take the initiative to complete task.
  • Work well under pressure to complete deadlines.
  • Conduct research through social media, court docket, Westlaw, and others.
  • Draft Pleadings, Notices, Orders, Discovery and etc from scratch without an template.
  • Enter Billable time into Orion by billing cut-off date.
  • Prepare documents, binders, and videos for trial.
  • Track schedule of supervising attorney(s).
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Knowledge of indexing
  • Knowledge of Medical Chronology 
  • Follow Instruction

Qualifications

1. Knowledge of legal format, procedures, and specialized terminology.
2. Knowledge of word processing and data entry.
3. Knowledge of proper grammar and spelling.
4. Skill to type quickly and accurately.
5. Ability to communicate professionally with clients over the phone and in person.
6. Ability to work in a team environment.
7. Knowledge of the internet to conduct research.

8. Ability to draft motions, answers and discovery from scratch without an template.
