What is a full time LPN?

Full Time LPNs, or Licensed Practical Nurses, are healthcare professionals who provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. Working full time typically means working around 36 to 40 hours per week, often in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, or private homes. Their duties include monitoring patients' health, administering medications, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining patient records. Full Time LPNs play a vital role in supporting patient care and ensuring a smooth workflow within healthcare teams.

What other jobs can a full time LPN do?

A full-time LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) can transition into roles such as medical assistant, patient care technician, or healthcare coordinator. They can also work in home health, long-term care facilities, clinics, or pursue further education to become a registered nurse (RN). Skills in patient care, documentation, and basic medical procedures are applicable across these positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time LPN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you need a practical nursing diploma, state licensure, and a solid understanding of basic patient care and medical procedures. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, medication administration tools, and clinical documentation is critical. Compassion, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help LPNs deliver quality care and build trust with patients and healthcare teams.
