The Goddard School, a 5 STAR licensed preschool is currently seeking a qualified, professional, full-time Kitchen Manager. We are looking for a fun and energetic individual who can multi-task in a lively environment, work well within a team and truly loves children. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for any food management needs and must have good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Kitchen Manager Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Check the refrigerator temperature to comply with sanitation regulations
  • Prepare AM and PM snacks and deliver to appropriate classrooms
  • Gather all school lunches and place in the refrigerator/freezer
  • Warm and deliver school lunches from the refrigerator
  • Work as an infant classroom assistant to relieve teachers for lunch breaks
  • Keep a running list of items needed for the kitchen and snacks and provide that list to the Director at least every week to place a food order
  • Ensure food prep areas, counters, drying racks, sinks and carts are cleaned and sanitized often
  • Ensure the pantry is stocked, organized, and clean
  • Ensure food prep containers are washed and sanitized daily
  • Ensure the refrigerator is kept clean and sanitized of any spills
  • Ensure classrooms have all appropriate paper goods and clean, sanitized, filled water pitchers
  • Fill, empty and clean all kitchen sinks
  • Fill and distribute bleach and soap/water bottles to all classrooms
  • Wash and sanitize all AM/PM snack dishes
  • Ensure the safe handling and preparation of all foods
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to food handling
  • Clean staff lounge microwave regularly
  • Assist in school events as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a childcare facility preferred
  • Shows empathy and compassion for young children
  • Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
  • Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
  • Must be willing and able to be on your feet during all work hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib when doing lunch breaks in the Infant classroom
  • Qualifying letter from NC DCDEE (We will help you apply if you do not already have one!)
