Location & Schedule

This position is mainly an in-person/in the office position with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule after successfully completing probation. You will work at the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse, located at 520 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80204. The typical hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional need to work outside of standard business hours.

The mission of Denver County Court is to administer justice fairly, efficiently and effectively; provide excellent customer service, and foster a positive environment where employees enjoy their work.The City and County of Denver's third branch of government is comprised of 19 judges, 4 full-time magistrates, and approximately 300 staff members. Case types include state, civil, small claims, traffic, criminal, and other cases within the City and County of Denver. The Division

The Court Interpreter's office utilizes both privately contracted interpreters and in-house court staff to deliver language access and promote access to justice to the public served by Denver County Court. What You'll do

The Denver County Court (DCC) is building a pool of qualified candidates to join the Court Interpreter's Office, including the role of a Spanish Judicial Associate II.As a Judicial Associate II, you will play a key role in coordinating language access to the Court and its participants.

In this role you can expect to:

• Dispatch interpreters for daily assignments to ensure language access is available in all courtrooms 24 physical courtrooms located in three different buildings, as well as multiple virtual courtrooms, mediation meetings, and other assignments as may be necessary.
• Coordinate and perform the administrative functions of the Court Interpreter's Office
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating independent contract interpreter coverage
• Assist with the review and processing of invoices for payment of contract interpreter services
• Act as liaison between judicial officers, State Court Administrator's Office of Language Access (OLA), Denver County Court Administration, and the DCC Interpreter's Office
• Maintain and report statistics
• Assist with the coordination of bilingual assessments of DCC staff, where appropriate

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will have integrity and a strong commitment to public service. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following:

• Be in the process of obtaining a court Certified Interpreter Certification or a Federal Interpreter Certification Credential or have interest in obtaining either of these credentials
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education Requirement:Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

• Experience Requirement:Three years of experience in a court, law enforcement, or legal setting.

• Education and Experience Equivalency:None

  License/Certification Requirement: Must be able to pass an initial pre-security clearance screening and maintain CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) certification as a condition of employment.

• Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
