This Cath Lab Registered Nurse opportunity is Full Time on our Cath Lab Unit and offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. This  dynamic individual will provide direct patient care to adult patient populations.  Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural/interventional environment.  This position communicates effectively with the physician and team members about patient condition.  Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness.  Assists in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all appropriate needs of the cardiovascular lab team are met.  Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure as well as administers moderate sedation under the guidance of the Physician.  Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for admitting, recovering and discharging of patients from the Cardiovascular Lab. 
  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served.  Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.  This includes post-procedure assessments

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Current NV nursing license
  • Current BLS certificate
  • ACLS certificate
  • Minimum of one year experience in acute care setting required.
  • 2 years of telemetry experience preferred.
  • Cath Lab experience preferred
  • One year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Current POC certification within 6 months of hire
  • Willing to take call/standby in the Cardiovascular lab as needed
