Description
The Accounting Support Specialist, known internally as Loans IFTA Specialist, serves as a member of the Electronic Funds Source (EFS) team and provides customer service to drivers, owner operators, and agents for loans and International Fuel Tax Agreements (IFTA). This position also performs other accounting functions, such as treasury / banking tasks, audits, and IFTA reporting.
Essential Job Duties
  • Initiate bank wires and ACH payments
  • Upload positive pay file, manage positive pay exemptions, reviewing payment status, and issue positive payment voids
  • Complete daily cash receipts reporting
  • Monitor and prepare loan documentation for entering deductions on approved loans
  • Generate and compile accurate fuel and mileage detail for chargebacks/refunds submission to third party provider (InterTax)
  • Send fuel surcharge detail to appropriate agencies that are above threshold
  • Activate and maintain new EFS fuel cards and send new/replacement cards out, as needed
  • Instruct owners and drivers on proper usage of EFS cards
  • Communicate with truck owners/drivers/agents regarding questions or concerns
  • Provide detailed records and paperwork for loan audits
  • Create monthly/quarterly fuel and mileage reports to submit to 3rd party provider (InterTax)
  • Generate and provide accurate chargebacks/refund amounts for settlement purposes via upload files
  • Work with 3rd party provider (InterTax) to accurately file and pay IFTA returns per the appropriate state's online portals

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience working in an office environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Strong typing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent mathematical ability
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent level of prior experience
  • Experience with IFTA
