Job description

The Comfort Inn & Suites East Greenbush, in Castleton NY is looking for a FULL TIME Housekeeping Manager who has a passion for guest service and cleanliness; and a commitment to training and developing staff.

Job Description:

  • Provide a positive environment for housekeeping staff to work in.
  • Perform supervisory duties including scheduling, inventory and facilitating team huddles/meetings.
  • Overseeing Room Attendants, Laundry, breakfast and Houseman.
  • Inspect rooms ensuring that they are within the Choice Hotels and Ownership standards.
  • Assist with training new and existing housekeeping staff.
  • Assist with developing staff in order for them to improve and grow in their profession.
  • At times Housekeeping Managers will also be assigned housekeeping duties in order to ensure guest satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
  • Clean bathtubs, showers, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
  • Strip and make beds, changing bed linens which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 40 lbs.
  • Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
  • Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room. Sign for room keys, retrieve, push to assigned rooms and restock heavy cart.
  • Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
  • Respond in a timely manner to guest requests for items such as an iron, safety instructions, assistance, direction, and/or other information as requested.
  • Report all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions to the General Manager
  • Other duties as assigned such as assisting House person, breakfast etc when requested.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to provide a positive environment in which to work and a positive environment for our guests to stay.
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms overhead to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, as well as guests.
  • Very hands on position and requires organization, attention to details, Strong cleanliness standards
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays. min 40 hours per week
  • STARTING PAY - BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND CAN GROW WITHIN COMPANY
  • Salary position based on experience

Experience:

  • Cleaning & Sanitation Managers & Supervisors: 1 -2 years (Preferred)
  • Previous Hotel housekeeping experience
