The DoubleTree by Hilton in the heart of downtown South Bend is seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeping Manager to lead our Housekeeping operation. This is a full-time salaried leadership position responsible for the daily operation of the Housekeeping department, including guestroom cleanliness, staffing, scheduling, productivity, inspections, training, inventory, and team performance. We are looking for a leader who is highly visible in the operation, comfortable holding the team accountable, and willing to jump in wherever needed.

Salary: $50,000–$55,000 annually, based on experience
Minimum 50-hour work week required
Open availability, including weekends and holidays, is required

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's Housekeeping operation and ensuring guestrooms and public areas consistently meet DoubleTree by Hilton cleanliness and presentation standards.

This position provides daily leadership to Housekeeping Supervisors, Room Attendants, House Attendants, and other departmental team members while working closely with the Front Desk, Engineering, and hotel leadership to ensure rooms are cleaned, inspected, and released on time.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the daily Housekeeping operation for a busy full-service hotel
  • Manage, coach, train, and develop Housekeeping Supervisors and team members
  • Prepare daily assignments based on occupancy, departures, arrivals, staffing, and business needs
  • Ensure guestrooms are cleaned, inspected, and released to the Front Desk in a timely manner
  • Monitor daily room productivity and departmental performance
  • Conduct regular guestroom and public-area inspections
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and presentation
  • Ensure VIP rooms, special requests, and priority rooms are completed and inspected
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training
  • Prepare and manage employee schedules based on occupancy and operational needs
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, performance, and productivity
  • Provide coaching and corrective action when standards are not being met
  • Work closely with Front Desk leadership regarding room status, discrepancies, early arrivals, and guest needs
  • Partner with Engineering on maintenance concerns, out-of-order rooms, and preventative maintenance
  • Monitor linen, guest supplies, cleaning products, and Housekeeping inventory
  • Maintain proper inventory controls and assist with ordering while controlling departmental costs
  • Ensure Housekeeping carts, closets, storage areas, stairwells, and service areas are properly maintained
  • Ensure Lost & Found, key control, safety, and security procedures are followed
  • Maintain required departmental records, inspections, schedules, and documentation
  • Lead departmental meetings, training, and daily communication
  • Respond professionally to guest concerns and assist with service recovery when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with hotel, Hilton, safety, sanitation, and company standards
  • Assist operationally with inspections, room cleaning, public areas, or other Housekeeping duties when business needs require
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by hotel leadership
What We're Looking For
  • Previous hotel Housekeeping management or supervisory experience required
  • Full-service hotel experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of guestroom cleaning and inspection standards
  • Proven ability to lead and hold a team accountable for quality, productivity, attendance, and performance

  • Ability to manage a high-volume operation and adjust quickly as business needs change
