GPS Gradesetter - Grading Division
General Summary: Western Engineering Contractors Inc. is seeking a qualified GPS Gradesetter for our Grading Division for full-time employment. Western Engineering is a local contractor that is based in Loomis and performs work in the greater Sacramento area and surrounding foothills. Western Engineering is a reputable company that has been rooted in the industry for over 40 years.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining required grades on projects while assisting the foreman in supervising and coordinating grading crews. This role ensures project quality and production requirements are met within budget, operates equipment as needed, assists with site preparation, reads and interprets plans, stakes, slopes, and laser levels, and maintain safety compliance.
Education Requirements: High school diploma preferable.
Experience Requirements: Five (5) or more years of construction experience in major sitework, utilities, grading & paving

โ€ข Strong technical skills to ensure a quality, cost-effective product.
โ€ข Effective leadership, planning, and communication (English) skills.
โ€ข Ability to anticipate and resolve conflicts.
โ€ข Knowledge of equipment, OSHA regulations, and local agency standards.
โ€ข Familiarity with local vendors and subcontractors.
โ€ข Proficiency in GPS systems such as Topcon & Trimble
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret plans and survey stakes
โ€ข Knowledge of GPS machine control grading systems a plus
