Job description

Principal GPS Subsystems Engineer – Guidance Electronics Team

Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite). U.S. citizenship required. Active, transferable Secret clearance required prior to start.

Responsibilities
  • Architect GPS electronics solutions for missile products, including subsystems, components, and system integration.
  • Define and document subsystem requirements, test plans, and verification criteria.
  • Analyze and model GPS sub‑assemblies and component designs, performing root‑cause failure investigations.
  • Collaborate with missile level system engineers, functional teams, and suppliers to develop requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Lead cross‑functional engineering teams, driving supplier commitments and programmatic activities.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to management, customers, and government stakeholders.
  • Support multiple programs, manage travel (including foreign travel) as required, and coordinate with higher‑level leadership.
  • Provide mentorship within Missile Systems culture, fostering professional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Expertise in electrical hardware development, systems engineering, and requirement development.
  • Experience with RF subsystems, GPS navigation, and IMU integration.
  • Knowledge of navigation subsystems (M‑Code, Kalman filter techniques) and blended navigation systems.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB scripting and related tools.
  • Experience in hardware integration, HIL, modeling and simulation, environmental testing, and use of electronics test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive supplier commitments.
  • Knowledge of DoD hardware development processes and design gate reviews.
  • Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and proposal development.
  • Preferred experience with missile radar and RF seeker subsystems, including detailed design and troubleshooting.

Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, parental leave, paid time off, holidays, and short‑term/long‑term incentive programs where applicable.
