About the Role

As our Design & Production Lead, you'll work closely with our leadership team to ensure that daily floral production, weddings, and events are executed beautifully and efficiently.

You'll play a key role in developing newer designers, maintaining quality standards, and helping coordinate the production of some of the most important events we create.

This Position is:

  • Full-time
  • Five days per week
  • Typically Tuesday through Saturday
  • Based in Bedford, NY
  • Includes holiday and event work as required

Responsibilities

Floral Design & Quality Control

  • Create premium every day, sympathy, and event arrangements
  • Help maintain design consistency and quality across the team
  • Ensure finished work reflects The Bedford Village Flower Shoppe aesthetic

Team Training & Development

  • Train and mentor new designers and support staff
  • Share floral techniques, mechanics, and best practices
  • Help build confidence and consistency throughout the design team

Wedding & Event Production

  • Coordinate floral production for weddings and events
  • Lead installations and on-site event setups
  • Ensure events are executed according to approved designs and timelines

Inventory & Production Planning

  • Assist with flower forecasting and ordering recommendations
  • Help identify inventory needs based on upcoming events and sales trends
  • Support efficient production planning throughout the week

Leadership & Team Support

  • Help lead holiday production efforts
  • Support a positive, professional team culture
  • Identify challenges and help solve problems before they become emergencies

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of professional floral design experience
  • Strong knowledge of fresh flowers and floral mechanics
  • Experience with weddings and event work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Prefrred

  • Experience in training or mentoring other designers
  • Event installation experience
  • Experience working in a high-volume floral environment
