What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a floral shop, and why are they important?

To thrive in a floral shop, you need a strong understanding of plant care, floral design, and customer service, often supported by experience or training in horticulture or floral arranging. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and basic design tools is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication are soft skills that help you excel in designing arrangements and assisting customers. These skills are important for delivering beautiful products, maintaining healthy inventory, and providing excellent customer experiences.

What is the 3-5-8 rule for florists?

The 3-5-8 rule for florists is a guideline for arranging flowers, suggesting that a bouquet should have 3 of one type of flower, 5 of another, and 8 of a third to create a balanced and appealing display. This rule helps florists design harmonious arrangements by balancing proportions and colors effectively.
