General ResponsibilitiesThis long-term temporary instructor teaching for the Fine and Performing Arts Division will teach all assigned classes in range of modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid, and may include evening or off-campus assignments unless excused according to Board Policy provisions. Will teach a variety of courses/levels within the discipline/area of study.

Faculty shall assist in maintaining the course outline for each assigned course. Faculty shall maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. Candidates should have experience with curriculum and program development.

Candidates should have experience with student learning outcomes and assessment, as well as program review. Be familiar with and observe the administrative regulations (flex calendar obligations, course overviews, etc.). Faculty shall participate in department meetings and activities and will serve on shared governance committee(s)

QUALIFICATIONS Requirements Minimum Qualifications(Applicants must meet one of the following): Possess from an accredited institution: A master's degree in Master's in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis, OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts or music OR Possess a valid California Community College credential authorizing service in the discipline, OR The equivalent (applicants who do not meet the above minimum qualifications must complete the Equivalencies Section in the application form). Equivalencies that the Department accepts as valid: (a) Master's degree with an emphasis in any one of the following areas: dance, dance techniques, dance performance, performing arts, theoretical studies, dance education, dance history, ethnic and folk dance forms, world dance and cultures, dance communication, somatic practices in dance, commercial dance forms, social and ballroom dance forms, performance studies, choreography, dance fitness, sports psychology, dance science, dance kinesiology, kinesiology and exercise science, dance physical therapy, dance therapy, somatic practices, dance methodology and pedagogy, dance and technology, screendance, dance production, dance costume design, dance and theatre technical/stage/light design, musical theatre, theatre with dance emphasis, physical education with dance emphasis, dance entrepreneur, dance and media marketing, dance studio management, dance critic, or any other dance-related emphasis OR (b) An earned bachelor's degree in any one of the areas listed in (a) AND a master's degree with minimum of 12 units of graduate level coursework in any of the areas listed in (a) OR (c) Master's degree in any discipline AND documentation of a career as a professional performing dancer and/or choreographer, including a sustained schedule of performances and associations with other professional performers and documentation of teaching experience in related subject matter.
