Description:

It is the primary responsibility of the Financial Controller to oversee the daily financial operations of the property and ensure the integrity of all accounting functions. This role provides leadership and oversight for the Accounting, Revenue Audit, Accounts Payable, and Payroll departments while ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company

policies. The Financial Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing month-end close processes, managing cash flow reporting, supporting annual budgeting and forecasting efforts, and providing financial insights to property leadership to support operational decision-making.


All duties are to be performed in accordance with company policies, gaming regulations, and applicable accounting standards.


Essential Job Functions/Duties

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Accounting, Revenue Audit, Accounts Payable, and Payroll departments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Oversee preparation and review of financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules. Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, cash handling, disbursements, payroll processing, and revenue reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, tax requirements, labor laws, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee daily revenue audit processes to ensure accurate reporting of gaming, hospitality, food & beverage, entertainment, and other revenue streams.
  • Manage accounts payable operations including invoice approvals, vendor payments, and compliance with purchasing policies.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payment of team members, payroll tax compliance, and benefit deductions
  • Monitor property cash flow and banking activity to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Partner with operational leaders to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Analyze financial performance and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and improve accounting procedures and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for finance team members.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned by executive leadership.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Master's Degree - Preferred
  • 4+ years of prior relevant experience (previous finance or related field experience) Required
  • 10+ years of prior relevant experience (previous finance or related field experience) Preferred


Certification Requirements

  • CPA and/or Gaming accounting experience Preferred
  • Previous experience working in a similar corporate setting Preferred

  • Must be able to move freely about the office, sit for long periods and withstand various activities such as walking, standing, bending, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard, operate office equipment, access all areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English in both written and oral forms.
  • Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
