Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.  


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads and directs advanced technology development/engineering organization.
  • Establishes, oversees, and administers processes, policies, and practices and determines resource requirements, acquisition, and redeployment plans.
  • Oversees and manage budgets of the organization and development projects.
  • Understands full life cycle requirements for product development.
  • Defines future factory vision, and strategy.
  • Works with subordinates to establish and evaluate employee performance plans.
  • Interfaces with other organizations, internal/external customers, and suppliers to define and evaluate accomplishment of project, program priorities and approvals, and assist in roadblocks elimination.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited Program
  • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering or technical role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • At least two years of management and/or technical leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills working cross functionally across teams
  • Analytical, demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly
  • Strong leadership skills & the ability to motivate and hold people accountable
  • Keen eye for details and a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Exceptional time management skills
