Ochsner LSU Health System-Monroe Medical Center & LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport seek applicants for an Obstetrics & Gynecology position in Monroe, LA. Must be board certified/board eligible in OBGYN and eligible for active Louisiana medical licensure. This position is for an Assistant or Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. J1 visa accepted. The incumbent will be responsible for clinical practice focusing on patients in both the inpatient and outpatient locations and provide clinical instruction to students and residents.

Monitors patient during prenatal, natal and postnatal periods and performs tests and prescribes medication and treatment, as necessary. Delivers babies, determining the method most appropriate to ensure health and safety of both infant and mother.

  • 4 FT faculty and 4 APP/Midwives
  • Monthly MFM support
  • >700 annual deliveries and growing
  • Level II NICU
  • Safe Birth Designation and The Gift Certified
  • Collegial and multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to collaborate on a customized plan of care for each patient.
  • Physician leadership and input at all levels of administration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have an MD or DO
  • Be US board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Louisiana
  • Have outstanding obstetric and surgical skills with interest in clinical activities
  • Commitment to the education of residents and medical students
  • Robotics certification
