Job description

CAP is a vital part of California's legal landscape, and this internship provides a firsthand look at how legal support can make a tangible difference in people's lives. CAP offers paralegal program students meaningful exposure to appellate advocacy and publicinterest law. They support our legal teams by assisting counsel appointed to represent individuals incarcerated on California's death row. Interns assist with documentary support, record collection, investigative review, legal research, writing, and other technical tasks that strengthen our clients' cases. During the academic year, interns work full-time or part-time in our San Francisco office. Current enrollment in an accredited California paralegal training program is required for this position.

We review applications for a paralegal internship on a rolling basis. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample, and the names and phone numbers of two references familiar with your skills and experience. In your cover letter, please describe how your life experience, training, and work history have prepared you to work effectively with the clients and communities we serve.
