Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse Buzzards Bay and Dennis, MA — Full Time Are you a passionate veterinary technician ready to advance your emergency and critical care skills? At Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists, we're expanding—and looking for dedicated, compassionate nurses to join our growing specialty ER team. Here, your expertise will directly impact pets and families facing urgent medical situations, while you continue to grow and refine your clinical abilities in a cutting-edge specialty environment.

As we grow to meet the increasing needs of Cape Cod and the surrounding islands, you'll play an essential role in helping care for our community's pets and their families when they need it most. About the Role Work 4 x 10-hour shifts including overnights, swings, weekends, and holiday rotations These shifts will be split between the Buzzards Bay and Dennis locations. Be a key player in the emergency team: from triage and stabilization to inpatient care and discharge Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, using your technical skills and compassionate advocacy Collaborate closely with veterinarians and colleagues to deliver gold-standard care under fast-paced conditions Your Day-to-Day Conduct emergency triage, gather vitals, and obtain health histories using EMRs Assist in stabilizing and monitoring critical patients on arrival and during hospitalization Execute technical nursing duties: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia monitoring Support clinicians during procedures with induction, prep, monitoring, and recovery Communicate clearly and empathetically with team members and pet owners What We're Looking For At least two years of experience working in a veterinary medicine (emergency preferred) Current CVT, LVT, or RVT (or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months) Veterinary emergency experience is essential; anesthesia and emergency procedure monitoring preferred RECOVER certification and/or VTS ECC credentials a plus (or a strong desire to pursue specialization) Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment A calm, adaptable mindset with strong critical thinking and teamwork abilities What We Offer Compensation range: $22 - $32/hr Most new hires can expect an offer based on experience, expertise, and alignment with comparable positions within the hospital, typically between the minimum and the midpoint of the range.
