About the Role:
As the Director of Strategy & New Ventures, you will run strategy and launch workstreams inside Dow Jones's biggest new consumer bets. You will take a workstream from thesis to live product: build the case, build the model, shape the GTM, line up partnerships, and design the org.
You will work on-site in our Midtown Manhattan office 3 days each week and report to the SVP, Consumer Ventures & Strategy.
You Are:
  • An operator, not just a deck maker; you can build and communicate the strategy, but also put it into action
  • Analytical. You can build a financial model, understand user data and research, and know what questions to ask to evaluate an opportunity
  • A consumer of media and news with a point of view about the future of the content and data business
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to bring structure to complex problems
  • Able to work with a range of stakeholders across levels, functions, industries, and geographies

You Will:
  • Develop business cases, financial models, and launch plans for new ventures
  • Shape commercial, partnership, and org design decisions for new ventures
  • Shape the broader Dow Jones consumer strategy and operating model
  • Execute on strategic initiatives

You Have:
  • 12+ years combining top-tier consulting or corporate strategy with at least one operating tour
  • At least: fluency with AI and ideas about how to use it to achieve our goals; At best: experience using AI to build new things and improve workflows
  • Demonstrated history of building and launching new things
  • The willingness to work in our Midtown Manhattan office at least 3 days each week
  • A plus: Media, content, and/or subscription experience
