We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Finisher to join our production support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying the final finishing touches to boat surfaces, ensuring a smooth, polished, and visually appealing product. This role requires expertise in sanding, buffing, painting, and polishing, as well as a strong understanding of boat construction and attention to detail.


  • Sand, buff, and smooth the surfaces of boats to prepare them for painting or finishing. Ensure the removal of any imperfections such as scratches, dents, or blemishes.
  • Apply various finishes, such as gel coats, paints, varnishes, and protective coatings, ensuring smooth, even coverage and long-lasting durability.
  • Install final components such as cleats, trims, railings, and hardware. Ensure that all pieces are securely fitted and meet quality standards.
  • Inspect finished boats for any defects or inconsistencies in appearance, function, or finish. Ensure all work adheres to specifications and industry standards.
  • Clean and polish boats to achieve a high-gloss, showroom-quality finish. Detail interiors and exteriors to meet company and customer standards.
  • Perform minor repairs and touch-ups to fix any imperfections in the finishes or surface, including fiberglass or gel coat repairs.
  • Maintain and safely operate finishing tools, such as sanders, grinders, and spray equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Work in conjunction with other boat builders, technicians, and quality inspectors to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a boat finisher, fiberglass finisher, or in a similar role within the boat manufacturing or marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of boat finishes, including gel coat, varnish, and other marine coatings.
  • Experience with sanding, buffing, and polishing techniques, and the ability to handle different types of finishes.
  • Familiarity with boat construction materials (fiberglass, wood, composite materials, etc.) and their finishing requirements.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and machinery, including sprayers, sanders, and grinders.
  • Good eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • You will be required to wear protective gear (gloves, goggles, respirators) as needed when handling materials and chemicals
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Tolerance for repetitive tasks like sanding, polishing, and spraying finishes.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including outdoors or in a climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Ability to inspect surfaces for imperfections and ensure a high-quality finish.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm, with occasional weekend assignments.


This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
