What will you be doing?

The IT Operations Supervisor leads the day-to-day performance of our IT environment, including infrastructure, endpoints, service desk, and audio-visual systems. You will lead a small IT team, manage the operating budget, and be accountable for reliable, secure, and well-documented technology operations.

This is an operations first role. Patching, backups, monitoring, documentation, and responsive support, along with thoughtful adoption of new technology when it meaningfully reduces cost, risk, or friction.

Some of your day-to-day tasks:

  • Lead IT operations. Manage and develop system administrators and service desk staff. Set service expectations, manage escalations and on-call coverage, and ensure clear communication and follow-through.
  • Manage infrastructure. Oversee networks, servers, storage, identity, endpoints, patching, backups, monitoring, capacity, and hardware/software lifecycles.
  • Drive service and reliability. Set and report performance targets, manage incidents and recurring problems, conduct root cause analysis, and improve service desk performance.
  • Support audio-visual systems. Ensure conference rooms and company events operate reliably, including executive and all-hands meetings.
  • Manage the budget. Build and manage the IT operating budget, forecast spending, justify capital requests, and control costs.
  • Maintain security and compliance. Oversee access controls, endpoint security, logging, vulnerability remediation, and change management. Support CMMC and NIST 800-171 requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Manage vendors. Oversee service providers, carriers, and technology vendors, including contracts, renewals, SLAs, performance reviews, and escalations.
  • Apply AI where it delivers value. Use governed AI and automation to improve areas such as ticket triage, knowledge management, documentation, monitoring, and routine IT work.

What do you need to be able to do?

  • 3–5 years of IT leadership experience with direct people management; manufacturing or multi-site experience preferred.
  • Practical experience with ITIL/ITSM processes, including incident, request, problem, change, and knowledge management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, networking, virtualization, backup/recovery, and endpoint management.
  • Experience with security frameworks and audits; CMMC or NIST 800-171 experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, contracts, renewals, and SLAs.
  • Sound judgment when evaluating technology based on cost, risk, supportability, and lifecycle.
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Relevant IT certifications are a plus.
