Job description

Overview
DecisionPoint seeks an Audio Visual Programmer to support HQ SDDC AV/VTC operations and multimedia support under the GITSS program. This position will support the setup, testing, operation, troubleshooting, programming, maintenance, and modernization of AV/VTC technologies used in SDDC conference rooms and mission spaces.
The Audio Visual Programmer will support secure and non-secure VTC systems, portable and fixed AV systems, desktop VTC capabilities, conference room technologies, control systems, and user support for high-visibility meetings, events, and mission operations.
This position is located at HQ SDDC, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Audio Visual Programmer will:
  • Set up, test, operate, troubleshoot, and take down AV/VTC systems supporting SDDC conference rooms and mission events.
  • Provide operational support for secure and non-secure VTC systems, portable AV kits, fixed conference room systems, and desktop VTC capabilities.
  • Support VTC scheduling, execution, user assistance, and issue resolution.
  • Design, program, install, test, and maintain AV/VTC technologies within SDDC facilities.
  • Program and configure control systems, audio processors, displays, matrix switches, and related AV/VTC components.
  • Support AV/VTC engineering projects, upgrades, preventive maintenance, firmware updates, and equipment replacement.
  • Maintain AV/VTC architecture documentation, operating instructions, as-built drawings, programming code, and system guides.
  • Support AV/VTC A&A documentation, STIG compliance, outage reporting, POA&M tracking, and SOP development.
  • Provide support for distinguished visitor events, senior leader meetings, ceremonies, briefings, and special events.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for warranty repair, replacement, firmware, and software support.
  • Provide performance metrics, after-action reports, preventive maintenance documentation, and upgrade recommendations.

Qualifications
Clearance Requirement:
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required Common Access Card (CAC), facility access, system access, and Government network access.

Education:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Technology, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Communications, or related discipline preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of AV/VTC operations, engineering, installation, maintenance, or programming experience.
  • Experience supporting secure and non-secure VTC systems in DoD or federal environments preferred.
  • Experience with Crestron or comparable control systems, audio processors, displays, video walls, matrix switches, and conference room technologies.
  • Experience supporting high-visibility events, senior leader briefings, and mission operations preferred.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of AV/VTC system design, installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with DISN Video Services, Global Video Services, Microsoft Teams, secure VTC environments, and multimedia support.
  • Ability to maintain as-built documentation, system drawings, operating guides, and test plans.

Certifications (Preferred):
  • DVS VTC Non-Resident Phase Facilitator certification and DVS VTC Resident Phase Facilitator certification preferred.
  • Crestron, AVIXA CTS/CTS-I/CTS-D, Extron, Biamp, AMX, or equivalent AV certifications preferred.
  • DoD 8140 / 8570 certification as required by final labor category mapping.

Skills:
  • Strong AV/VTC troubleshooting and programming skills.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills for executive and mission events.
  • Ability to work onsite and support short-notice or after-hours mission requirements.
  • Strong documentation, configuration management, and change management discipline.
