Audio Visual Technician, Full Time
Rate of Pay: $60,000-$62,000 Annually

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Audio Visual Technician to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for maintaining and improving audio visual, network, and technology related systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Provide services that are above and beyond for guest satisfaction and retention.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
  • Install, configure, manage, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair computer networks, workstations, support server system(s), supporting hardware/software, user accounts, and computer/telephone rooms.
  • Provide service management of audio-visual products.
  • Lead resolution and problem management for video conferencing technology in meeting rooms/spaces, scheduling panels, wireless content sharing, and electronic bulletin boards
  • Train/instruct users in proper use and security of all systems.
  • Troubleshoot/repair/resolve technical problems/issues related to computer hardware/software/LAN and WAN/internet.
  • Respond to program error messages.
  • Provide network communications support and technical guidance.
  • Refer major problems to vendors/technicians.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements.
  • Consult with others to assess/analyze/resolve computing needs and system requirements.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose computer equipment/systems.
  • Plan and coordinate information technology-related equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
  • Provide end-user support for all applications.
  • Plan and manage disk space for entire network.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all technological devices.
  • Enter commands and activate controls on computers and equipment.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.
  • Maintain and understand special guest programs and franchise related programs.
  • Find solutions quickly, and confidently address and resolve guest concerns.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best
    overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  • Promote safe work practices.
  • Interview, select, review, train and performance manage department team members.
  • Train new employees according to all corporate specifications, including documentation.
  • Assign duties and schedule staff, balancing needs of Hotel and productivity standards. Monitor staff activity and coach performance.
  • Administer payroll edits, reporting and time & attendance policies.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Knowledge/Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field. Proficient in Microsoft applications. Industry certification preferred (Cisco CCNA, etc.) At least two (2) years previous audio visual and information technology experience required. Experience in a union environment is preferred but not required.
