Job description

Overview:

Reporting directly to the CFO/Controller, the position requires a combination of bookkeeping and accounting aptitude and is responsible for supervision/oversight of accounts payable and monthly execution of the Company’s financial statement close process. This is a great opportunity for those who wish to grow into a traditional Controller role.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

• Coordinate and execute the month-end close process, including recording of recurring and non-recurring journal entries, account reconciliations, and related tasks

• Reconcile all general ledger balances

• Assist in the annual budget process

• Calculate, process and pay monthly B&O tax

• Develop new processes, procedures, policies, and controls where needed to improve and streamline the accounting processes

• Create invoices for special projects

• Cash receipt input, accounts receivable reconciliation

• Assist with FAS 115 (cash-to-accrual) accounting for various Trusts (as needed)

• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Business degree (Accounting emphasis preferred, but not required)

• 7-10 years’ accounting experience, including application of GAAP

• Experience with Quickbooks Pro

• Previous supervisory experience

• Highly organized with efficient prioritization skills

• Demonstrated attention to detail

• Ability to work with and maintain confidential matters

• Must be punctual and able to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA candidate
