Job Title: Student Worker - Art & Art History Front Office Assistant

Job Classification: Administrative and Office Services, Student

Pay Rate: $9.56/hour

Job Description:

The Student Worker - Art & Art History Front Office Assistant will provide broad administrative support for the Department of Art & Art History, working closely with the Administrative Manager. The Front Office Assistant should be dedicated, friendly, punctual, and organized. Responsibilities include:

  • Representing the department positively as the first point of contact for all front office inquiries; directing students to the appropriate person, process, or resource.
  • Making reservations and managing departmental calendars related to student and faculty activities.
  • Organizing files and supplies, restocking materials, and ensuring the office remains clean and orderly.
  • Sorting mail and packages, communicating delivery updates promptly and clearly, and resolving any related issues.
  • Creating and updating departmental resources and documents.
  • Collecting course schedule requests from faculty and assisting with schedule creation and verification.
  • Performing other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Greet visitors with excellent customer service
  • Provide general office, administrative, or  clerical support
  • May assist with handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including phone calls, messages, and mail
  • May assist with routing and resolving questions or information requests
  • May assist with document preparation, filing, and office records
  • Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
  • May assist with office supplies and organization of common areas
  • May assist with data entry tasks, spreadsheets, and reports
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
