Job description

Lead the team that creates every guest's first and lasting impression. The Sonnenalp Hotel is seeking a Full-Time, Year-Round Front Desk Supervisor to help lead our Guest Services team and deliver the exceptional hospitality that defines our luxury resort. In this leadership role, you'll mentor and support Front Desk Agents, oversee daily operations, and ensure every guest receives warm, personalized service from arrival through departure. Wage: $26.00 - $28.00/hour
Primary Purpose of Position
Responsible for effective supervision of the Front Desk team and other required operations during their shift. Act in the absence of the Front Office Managers, and to maintain the highest level of guest services and hospitality at all times.
Schedule: Required to work evenings, holidays and weekends, sometimes in excess of 40 hours per week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures in accordance with LHW standards.
  • Training of all the new front desk agents.
  • Exhibit good knowledge of all Front Office procedures and property management system operations.
  • Assist other areas of the Front Office as needed (Concierge, Bellman, Valet, Ski Valet, etc.)
  • Handle guest complaints and problems to the highest level in the absence of the DFO/FOM, logging all the issue in HotSOS and following through on the resolutions.
  • Supervise the duties of the Front Desk staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for scheduling and ensuring budget is met in regards to front desk payroll.
  • Responsible for goal setting for all front desk staff and delivering ongoing feedback as well as performance review 30 days, seasonal and annual.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and onboarding new staff members in cooperation with DFO/FOM.

Education/Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent; (Hospitality) College degree preferred
  • 1 year of Front Office Supervision experience
  • 1 year of Front Office Training experience

Recommended Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience with HMS or similar Lodging Software preferred.
  • Efficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and web based systems.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in pressure situations; self-motivated & self-starter.

Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to Stand and walk for full-length of shift, up to 12 hours at one time
  • Able to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
  • Routinely handles objects weighing up to 15lbs and on occasion may be expected to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
