Front Counter Manager

Supervisor: Store and/or Territory Manager

FLSA Status: Full-time Non-exempt

Position Overview

The Front Counter Manager is responsible for overseeing all front of house (FOH) operations including training and supervising of FOH staff, customer management, and cash management. Front Counter Manager also oversee Tagger and/or Assigner positions in addition to the Front Counter.  The Front Counter Manager is also responsible for maintaining ZIPS Dry Cleaners standards according to policy and procedures established in the operations manual and as defined by the Franchisee of the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand, follow, and train ZIPS customer service standards and principles
  • Understand, follow, and is able to train others on ZIPS Front Counter, Tagging, and Assigning procedures 
  • Thorough understanding of the tools available, including but not limited to ZIPSsoft and the camera system, and effectively uses them to monitor and improve store performance
  • Clear tagging and missing report daily
  • Effectively hires, trains and develops staff
  • Manages labor and schedules staff through the use of ZIPS pieces per operator hour (PPOH) metrics
  • Manages cash drawer balancing, deposits, and change orders
  • Effectively manages supply costs and inventory
  • Follows safety and security guidelines provided by the Franchisee
  • Complete all assigned duties in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the Williamsburg store
  • Must have own transportation
  • Must be available to work at both the Williamsburg store and Newport News store

Starting Pay: $17/hour to start.

Hours of operation: 7:00 am–7:00 pm

Preferred Qualifications 

  • High school diploma
  • Dry clean industry experience
  • Supervisory experience in a dry cleaning, retail, and/or food service environment
  • Experience with franchise system a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
