From elevated Italian cuisine and modern Mediterranean flavors to classic steakhouse fare and lively social dining destinations, each concept is committed to exceptional hospitality, culinary excellence, and memorable guest experiences.

We are seeking Food Runners at several properties in the West Loop who can deliver exceptional guest experiences in our fast-paced, high-volume, full-service restaurant environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, urgency, and teamwork to ensure food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and with proper presentation.

Food Runners serve as a critical link between the kitchen and dining room, helping maintain smooth service flow and proper pacing of courses. Successful candidates communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams, demonstrate strong menu knowledge, and take pride in delivering dishes professionally while contributing to memorable dining experiences for every guest.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver food to guests quickly and accurately according to table numbers and seat positions while confirming order accuracy and presentation standards.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergens to verify dishes and modifications before leaving the kitchen.
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure proper timing and pacing of courses.
  • Describe dishes, along with modifications, when delivering food and answer basic menu questions when appropriate.
  • Safely perform tableside service elements that may involve sharp utensils or controlled flame presentations when required.
  • Assist with garnishing and final plate presentation when directed by kitchen leadership.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line, service stations, and runner areas.
  • Support servers and service teams during peak periods to maintain smooth service flow.
  • Assist with clearing plates, resetting tables, and maintaining dining room readiness as needed.
  • Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned.
  • Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Handle guest interactions with professionalism and hospitality.
  • Contribute positively to team morale and support fellow team members during high-volume periods.
  • Additional duties as needed within the scope of the role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant experience required; high-volume experience strongly preferred.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and allergens.

Physical Demands + Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds (trays, beverage racks, etc.)
  • Continuous movement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and twist frequently throughout shift.
  • Must be able to move safely through kitchen area, including slick floors and tight spaces.
