This position is local to our corporate campus located in Phoenix, AZ and is ineligible for fully remote work.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Manager, HR Process Improvement, the Technical Manager is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting technology solutions that improve HR operations and reduce manual effort. This role serves as a technical resource and consultant to HR business partners, project teams, and stakeholders by identifying automation opportunities, developing scalable solutions, and supporting system integrations and reporting capabilities. This position focuses on solution development, automation, reporting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with HR business units and stakeholders to identify process inefficiencies, manual tasks, and opportunities for automation.
  • Evaluate business needs and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Analyze existing processes and develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, business partners, and technical teams to support successful implementation of technology solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Python and related technologies.
  • Develop and support user-friendly tools, dashboards, and graphical interfaces that streamline business processes.
  • Troubleshoot, enhance, and optimize existing automation solutions and applications.
  • Customize and integrate systems (e.g., Workday, HRIS, Azure tools) to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve data, reporting, and integration issues.
  • Design and develop reports, metrics, and data solutions that provide meaningful business insights.
  • Support testing, validation, and deployment of solutions.
  • Support ongoing system maintenance and enhancement efforts.
  • Maintain clear documentation for solutions, processes, and technical designs.
  • Ensure solutions comply with organizational standards, security requirements, data privacy practices, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, benefits, and other sensitive HR information.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in application development, preferably within the HR domain.
  • Experience with cloud-based HR solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience with data analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Certification in relevant programming languages or HR systems.

Required Skills
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python (preferred), Java, C#, or others relevant to the organization's tech stack.
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
  • Understanding of HR processes and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar work tracking and change management tools.
  • Proficiency with HTML
