CRNA for the VA hospital in San Antonio, TX

We have the Government contract for 5 CRNAs at the VA in San Antonio, TX.
We need to fill 1 additional spot.
THE SHORT: Need 1 CRNA for the VA hospital in San Antonio, TX long term full-time position $215/hr any state license

LOCATION: Audie Murphy VA Medical Center, 7400 Merton Minter, San Antonio, TX 78229
DURATION / START DATE:
  • Start asap after credentialing/security
  • 5-year contract, likely continuing after that.
  • Note: The duration of the contract is between the government and us. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you give us a 60-day notice.
COMPENSATION:
  • $215/hr. all inclusive, 1099
  • $10/hr. on-call (from home, with 30-60 min call back. We know this is not ideal, but it s the max amount the VA allows under this contract, and the entirety is passed on to you)
  • $250/hr. call-back (minimum 1 hr. paid)
  • $250/hr. OT (paid after 40hrs a week although extremely rare).
  • We cover Med Mal (claims made + tail)
SCHEDULE:
  • M-F, 6:30am 3pm. There is a late shift 9:30am 6pm everyone rotates through
  • Call is based on # of CRNAs. Right now, 1 weekday call every 17 days. 1 weekend call every 17 weeks. All Fed holidays OR is closed except call.
  • CRNA/MD call team.
  • Call-back is extremely rare. Only 34 annual hrs. total estimated for the whole contract.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
  • 11 ORs, 2 Gi Suites, plus pulmonary, IR, etc.
  • Average 7-8 rooms running a day.
  • From on-site CRNAs: ACT on paper, but collaborative in nature. Physician anesthesiologists generally very helpful and humble. They are usually present for induction but that's about it. They may pop in to check if you need anything but otherwise will stay out of your way unless you request them.
  • No Hearts, OB, Peds, Transplants
  • ASA 3-4 mainly.
  • Always have 2nd set of hands if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Any unrestricted state license
  • Able to pass background check as part of their security process
  • Minimum 1-year CRNA experience
