  • Department: UCHlth Outpatient Coding 2 - Emergency Dept
  • Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  
  • Shift: Days 
  • Pay: 29.54 - 44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is 100% remote. Eligible out-of-state candidates may be considered. 

Summary:

Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function in Coding

Responsibilities:

  • Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Supports management initiatives. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
  • Serves as an internal liaison with other departments that have coding concerns/questions.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma GED.
  • Coding-related certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
* Reg Health Info Technician, Certified Coding Specialist, Reg. Health Information Admin, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Prof. Coder Apprentice, Certified Outpatient Coder2 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience.
