Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

As a global leader in advanced mobility solutions, our outstanding team of legal professionals helps us navigate the continually changing legal and regulatory landscape. In our Office of General Counsel, you'll be part of an organization that collaborates with outside counsel to operate as a global team and deliver world-class legal, tax and audit services to client groups throughout the company.

In this position...

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

As a global leader in advanced mobility solutions, our outstanding team of legal professionals helps us navigate the continually changing legal and regulatory landscape. In our Office of General Counsel, you'll be part of an organization that collaborates with outside counsel to operate as a global team and deliver world-class legal, tax and audit services to client groups throughout the company.

You will help drive privacy excellence through operational support, project management, and leading cross-functional initiatives across Ford's Data & Privacy legal team. The role will assist a team of lawyers helping Ford deliver great products and services, drive best-in-class digital experiences, and champion customer trust.

You'll have...

  • 7-10 years or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience, including experience in data privacy, artificial intelligence, compliance, or legal operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex, cross-functional legal and operational initiatives including working with stakeholders to establish milestones and delivering projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Track record of driving "strategic efficiency." Experience identifying, implementing, and managing legal technology and building structures, systems, and workflows (e.g., workflow automation tools, large language models, or other AI-driven tools) to modernize legal workflows and make teams more efficient.
  • Comfortable learning new tools and technologies quickly, and a fundamental knowledge of AI including the abilities of Large Language Models and other AI tools to support legal work.
  • Ability to synthesize complex legal discussions into actionable meeting minutes, executive summaries, action items, and memos for leaders and business partners.
  • Strong legal research skills (using LexisNexis, Westlaw, or regulatory databases) with the ability to distill findings into concise, business-friendly materials.  Exceptional judgment in handling sensitive matters and information while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.

Even better, you may have...

  • Advanced proficiency in Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, and/or OneTrust is a plus.
  • Professional privacy certifications, such as CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) or CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) is a plus.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
  • Tuition assistance
  • Established and active employee resource groups
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
