Finance, Planning, and Budgeting (FPB) has an outstanding opportunity forMail Rater, C2 Mail Processingtojoin their team.

About this Opportunity

TheMail Rater, C2 MailProcessingoperatesmailing machines; adjust,maintainand operate mail processing equipment such as ink jet addressing system, mail inserter,tabberand folders, processandmeter outgoing mail, mail handwork and use computers to enter and printappropriate U.S.Postal Service paperwork. Participate in Lean Process Improvement activities, daily,weeklyand monthly huddles. Lean idea generation and team building,meetingsand other workflow improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mail Processing & Production Operations - 55%

  • Postal Services Expertise & Customer Support - 20%

  • Records Management & Administrative Support - 10%

  • Lean Process Improvement & Operational Excellence - 10%

  • Mail Collection, Delivery & Other Assigned Duties - 5%

Required Qualifications

To be considered for thisopportunityyourapplication mustdemonstrateyou meet both the minimum qualifications andadditionalqualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute forminimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license,certification, and/or registration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduation or GED certificate AND one year of experience processing United States and/or campus mail.

  • Six months ofadditionalexperience or training as a Mail Rater, or equivalent, may substitute for required education.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Additional Qualifications

  • Positionsallocatedto this class are distinguished by responsibility for processing both foreign and domestic mail for proper postage and are expected to have knowledge of United States Post Office Regulations in the International Mail Manual and Domestic Mail Manual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or willingness to learn computer data entry.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must be able to lift and carry weights up to 70 pounds and push, pull up to 100 pounds. For heavierweightsthe skill to use manual or electric powered equipment to move materials.
