Job description

The Biomedical Engineering Leader is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the operation, maintenance, repair, and safety of medical equipment throughout the hospital and affiliated facilities. This position ensures that all biomedical equipment is properly maintained, compliant with regulatory requirements, and available to support high-quality patient care. The Biomedical Engineering Leader provides guidance and support to Biomedical Engineering staff, manages vendor relationships, develops departmental policies and procedures, and oversees equipment planning and lifecycle management.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education/Certification Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to imaging, laboratory, or specialty equipment are preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets, service contracts, and equipment lifecycle programs preferred.
