Freshman Assistant Football Coach
In accordance with Article 10, Section B, of the Master Agreement, you are hereby notified of the following vacancy:
Position Overview
Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as Freshman Assistant Football Coach. The successful candidate will assist the Freshman Head Football Coach in developing student-athletes both on and off the field by teaching football fundamentals, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, supporting academic success, and helping create a positive and competitive athletic environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Previous football coaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of football fundamentals, skill development, game strategy, and athlete development.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach and motivate student-athletes while maintaining a positive and structured environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with student-athletes, parents, coaches, staff, and administration.
  • Must meet all Monroe Public Schools and Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) requirements for coaching eligibility.

  • Demonstrated skills in organization, strategy, and teaching football fundamentals.
  • Ability to develop a competitive spirit while maintaining proper sportsmanship and professionalism among athletes, coaches, staff, and spectators.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Football Coach with planning, organizing, and supervising practices, contests, team meetings, and related activities.
  • Teach football fundamentals, techniques, conditioning, and game strategies appropriate for the freshman level.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, and respect among student-athletes.
  • Assist in monitoring and supporting the academic progress and eligibility of team members.
  • Help maintain effective communication with players, parents, staff, and administration regarding program expectations and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all District policies, athletic department expectations, and MHSAA regulations.
  • Assist in the care, inventory, and maintenance of athletic equipment and facilities.
  • Support the Head Coach in fostering program continuity and athlete development.
  • Serve as a positive role model and representative of Monroe Public Schools at all times.

Compensation
Compensation will be in accordance with the applicable Master Agreement and athletic stipend schedule.
