Job description

The Global Supply Chain Team is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of transportation and distribution of merchandise through J. Crew's multi-channel supply chain. The Manager, Truckload, Parcel, and Freight Payment will be responsible for partnering with nominated suppliers to manage the movement of goods in and out of the distribution centers. They will manage freight audit and payment for the entire supply chain organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage carrier relationships to facilitate movement of goods from deconsolidation and returns sites to our distribution centers.
  • Facilitate and manage J.Crew's annual truckload RFP.
  • Understand volume forecasts, work with carrier partners to manage capacity to align, especially to peak.
  • Guide the team through parcel spend analysis towards construction recommendations for reducing spend
  • Coordinate with North American transportation partners to align shipping schedules to provide outbound capacity to pool partners.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all J.Crew activities in scope for carriers and freight payment.
  • Educate carrier partners on the standard operating procedures, then manage to them.
  • Build key performance indicators for activities within the network.
  • Communicate issues effectively and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner using root cause analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and service expansion.
  • Monitor and manage transportation costs.
  • Manage Freight Payment associates and third party partner to ensure timely vendor payments and accurate financial reporting.
  • Drive improvements in the freight audit and pay space, including audit reporting and exception identification that unlock enhanced data drive decision making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (or equivalent work experience)
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience with focus on logistics
  • Supply chain, especially fashion/soft lines, experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office skills required with strong Excel and BI skills preferred
