About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Executive – Local Transportation to grow our local transportation business across South Florida.

This is a sales-focused position for someone who understands the Miami logistics market and knows how to identify, prospect, develop, and close customers requiring frequent local transportation services.

The ideal candidate has an existing understanding of the logistics ecosystem in Miami, Doral, Medley, Miami International Airport, PortMiami and surrounding areas, including freight forwarders, airlines, warehouses, distributors, importers/exporters, cruise suppliers and other companies with recurring transportation needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business for our Local Transportation division in Miami and South Florida.

  • Prospect and acquire customers requiring:

    • Airport and airline cargo pickups and deliveries.

    • Freight Forwarder transportation.

    • Warehouse-to-Warehouse (WH to WH) transfers.

    • Cruise line and cruise supplier transportation.

    • Port and airport-related cargo movements.

    • Local distribution and scheduled deliveries.

    • Dedicated and recurring transportation.

    • Warehouse and transportation integrated solutions.

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.

  • Conduct field prospecting and customer visits throughout Miami-Dade and South Florida.

  • Develop relationships with Freight Forwarders, airlines, warehouses, importers, exporters, distributors, manufacturers and cruise-related companies.

  • Prepare transportation proposals and negotiate rates while protecting company profitability.

  • Identify recurring lanes, transportation patterns and opportunities to convert transactional customers into long-term accounts.

  • Work closely with Operations, Dispatch and Warehouse teams to ensure that proposed solutions are operationally viable.

  • Follow up on quotes and opportunities until closing.

  • Maintain CRM activity, pipeline, customer information and commercial follow-up.

  • Meet monthly targets for new customers, revenue, gross profit and transportation volume.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales or business development experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, trucking, 3PL or warehousing.

  • Strong knowledge of the Miami / South Florida logistics market.

  • Experience selling local transportation, trucking, freight forwarding, 3PL or related logistics services.

  • Understanding of local transportation rates, routes, equipment and operational requirements.

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and the relationship between transportation and warehousing.

  • Existing relationships within the Miami logistics community are highly valued.

  • Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and spend significant time visiting prospects and customers.

  • CRM and sales pipeline management experience.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout South Florida.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing customer portfolio or network of logistics contacts in South Florida.

  • Experience working with Freight Forwarders around Miami International Airport.

  • Experience with airport cargo and airline-related transportation.

  • Experience with cruise line logistics or cruise suppliers.

  • Knowledge of PortMiami logistics.

  • Experience selling both transportation and warehousing solutions.

  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a hunter, not an order taker.

The successful candidate will be comfortable opening doors, visiting customers, making calls, building relationships and converting opportunities into recurring transportation business.

This person should understand that success in this role is measured by new customers, new revenue, gross profit, recurring transportation volume and customer retention.

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus an attractive performance-based commission structure.

Compensation will be aligned with the candidate's experience, existing network and demonstrated ability to generate new transportation business.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to develop a growing Local Transportation business supported by broader logistics capabilities, including transportation, warehousing and 3PL solutions.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to build a significant customer portfolio and participate directly in the growth of our South Florida operation.
