Senior Ocean Freight Specialist

Location: Miami, Florida (On-site)

At TransCargo Solutions USA, we are an international freight forwarding company specializing in logistics solutions for industrial projects and the renewable energy sector. We manage ocean, air, and ground transportation worldwide, delivering tailored end-to-end logistics solutions to our clients.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Freight Forwarding Specialist to join our Operations team at our Miami headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage international freight forwarding shipments from start to finish, primarily ocean freight (FCL/LCL).
  • Request, analyze, and negotiate freight rates with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, and logistics providers.
  • Prepare customer quotations and pricing proposals.
  • Coordinate vessel bookings with shipping lines.
  • Monitor shipments from origin through final delivery.
  • Coordinate with overseas agents, trucking companies, warehouses, and other logistics partners.
  • Review and manage international shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, and related documents.
  • Advise customers on Incoterms and logistics solutions.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to develop competitive logistics proposals.
  • Resolve operational issues while providing excellent customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, international agents, and logistics partners.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working for a freight forwarder.
  • Proven experience managing international ocean freight operations.
  • Experience handling carrier bookings.
  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Experience preparing freight quotations and transportation cost calculations.
  • Knowledge of international trade documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written). Spanish is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in air freight and domestic/international trucking operations.
  • Experience with Project Cargo, oversized cargo, or renewable energy logistics.
  • Established relationships with ocean carriers and international logistics agents.
  • Experience using freight forwarding software (CargoWise, Softcargo, or similar).
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures and international trade compliance.
  • Additional languages are a plus.
