Job Summary:
The Account Executive serves as the operational backbone of a designated squad, providing real-time, day-to-day
support across both shipper and carrier functions. This role bridges tactical gaps to ensure smooth workflow, accurate
load execution, and exceptional customer service. The Account Executive is responsible for tasks such as appointment
scheduling, load entry, carrier procurement, POD/document retrieval, tracking, and pricing. They will work cross functionally with the Shipper Account Executive and Carrier Account Executive teammates, flexing responsibilities based on team workload and business needs.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist squad members daily with operational tasks including, but not limited to:
• Appointment scheduling
• Load creation and entry into the TMS
• POD/document retrieval
• Carrier outreach and procurement
• Pricing and quoting
• Own the tracking of active loads using internal tools and systems (e.g., MacroPoint and TMS) ensuring timely
updates and customer notifications.
• Collaborate with squads and leadership to develop best practices and maintain standard operating procedures
(SOP's) and daily processes.
• Act as backup for other squad members (e.g., desk coverage).
• Support an environment of best practice sharing by holding all squads accountable for following established
standard operating procedures (SOP's) and daily processes.
• Support and assist with implementation and utilization of new technology and programs.
• Communicate with Packer Freight leadership when there are workload imbalances within the squad.
• Promote effective collaboration across squads (e.g., share carrier contacts, best practice approaches, etc.).
• Help maintain a list of specialty carriers (e.g., hotshot, flatbed, hazmat, sprinter, drayage, etc.) for Packer Freight
team members to utilize as situations arise.
• Help manage and organize the Packer Freight Microsoft Team's folders and files.
• Secure capacity to cover pending shipments, ensure on time pick-ups, and deliveries for our shippers.
• Negotiate freight rates with Packer Freight carriers.
• Set carriers up through Packer Freight carrier qualification process.
• Maximize customer experience (e.g., efficiency, quality, profitability).
• Professionally respond to customer concerns and queries.
Job Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (e.g., email, phone).
