Job Description
1st Shift Forklift Operator
Pro resources has partnered with a local company in Columbia City that is a warehouse for gummy vitamins, probiotics, energy support, cough drops, and more. All positions will be pick/pack, warehouse type openings.
Hours:
1st Shift
8am-5pm M-F
*(2) 15 minute breaks and (1) 30 minute break*
Pay:
$20 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate forklift (sit-down or pallet jack as required) to move pallets and materials for receiving, storage, staging, and shipping.
  • Load and unload trucks and verify shipment contents against bills of lading, secure loads for transport.
  • Assist with order picking (hand pick and RF scanner), packing, labeling, and wrapping shipments to meet quality standards and shipping deadlines.
  • Stage and palletize outbound orders according to packing lists and carrier requirements.
  • Cycle count and assist with inventory checks, report discrepancies and damaged product.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company SOPs specific to health-related products.
  • Follow lot tracking, lot code, and expiration-date handling procedures to preserve product integrity and traceability.
  • Complete required documentation (warehouse logs, inspection forms, shipping records) accurately and promptly.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and quality control procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center; valid forklift certification preferred or willingness to be certified.
  • Experience with picking/packing processes and basic use of RF scanners, barcode readers, or warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
  • Ability to read packing lists, labels, and basic shipping paperwork.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work under time pressure.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally; perform repetitive motions, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment; may involve prolonged walking and climbing on/off equipment.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time, shift-based schedule including potential overtime during peak periods.
  • Strict cleanliness and contamination control due to handling of consumable health products; adherence to hygiene policies (e.g., no smoking, food, or strong fragrances in certain areas).
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in food, nutraceutical, or supplement warehousing with GMP/SOP familiarity.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory control systems
