Job description

We are looking for a Pod Lead: Performance Creative to lead the strategy, systems, and execution behind high-performing paid social creative across a client portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of creative strategy, paid media, production operations, and emerging AI-enabled workflows.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic leader and a performance operator-someone who understands how to build scalable creative systems that drive measurable business outcomes. This person will execute and oversee concept development, creative testing infrastructure, production throughput, and team leadership across performance creative initiatives.

This role is responsible not only for the quality of creative output, but for actively improving the operational engine that consistently produces, tests, iterates, and scales winning creative.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Creative Pod Leadership

  • Build creative frameworks rooted in platform behavior, audience psychology, media insights, and conversion principles
  • Establish best practices for concept development, briefing, production, testing, reporting, and optimization
  • Partner closely with Paid Media team to align creative strategy with media goals, KPIs, audience segmentation, and scaling opportunities
  • Partial owner of the evolution of creative performance standards across channels including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google, and emerging platforms

Creative Strategy & Testing

  • Oversee development of high-converting creative concepts, hooks, messaging frameworks, and testing roadmaps
  • Translate media performance data into actionable creative insights and iteration plans
  • Lead structured creative testing methodologies including:
    • Concept testing
    • Hook testing
    • Offer testing
    • Messaging frameworks
    • Creator variations
    • Format and pacing variations
    • Landing page alignment
  • Ensure a strong pipeline of net-new concepts and iterative creative variations is consistently moving through production
  • Create systems for identifying winning creative patterns and scaling learnings across accounts
  • Balance strategic rigor with speed and agility in a fast-paced testing environment

AI & Innovation

  • Adoption of AI-enabled creative workflows across ideation, scripting, editing, research, and iteration
  • Evaluate and implement tools that improve creative velocity, testing efficiency, and production scalability
  • Develop workflows that combine human creative strategy with AI-assisted execution to increase output without sacrificing effectiveness
  • Stay ahead of platform trends, creator behavior, and emerging creative technologies
  • Champion a culture of experimentation, innovation, and continuous optimization

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary performance creative team including strategists and freelancers
  • Provide creative direction, coaching, and performance feedback to team members and external partners
  • Build strong collaboration between creative, media, strategy, account management, and influencer teams
  • Create a high-accountability culture focused on creative effectiveness, iteration, and measurable outcomes

Client Delivery and Communication

Alongside a team of Account Managers, Media Analysts, and Studio Creatives, this role is responsible for high quality client delivery and communication. On a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, the Pod Lead is responsible for client-facing Performance Creative reporting meetings.

  • 5-7 years of experience in performance creative, paid social, growth marketing, or digital advertising
  • Strong understanding of paid social ecosystems including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Google
  • Proven track record of developing creative systems that drive measurable business performance (CTR, CPA, ROAS, CVR, MER, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in creative testing methodologies and performance optimization
  • Experience managing high-volume creative production pipelines in an agency or high-growth environment
  • Strong understanding of platform-native storytelling, hooks, pacing, CTAs, and conversion-focused creative principles
  • Hands-on familiarity with creative production tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, CapCut, motion/video editing tools, and AI creative platforms
  • Experience integrating creators, UGC, and influencer content into paid media strategies
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
